Nowadays with the way surfing is moving towards high performance aerials and big punts, I still think it's pretty hard to beat a big top-to-bottom forehand hack. It's a fundamental move that really defines a surfer's style. Check out these photos I shot of Ganti, Bol, and Garut (all related) getting their rails wet at Serangan last week. It's in their blood!

Hey guys welcome to my new blog! Today I want to share video and photos from the last big swell of 2011 in Indo. We picked a small group of people to do a road trip. It was me, Bol, and Mega and photographer Hamish and filmer Gatot. We packed the boards, got in the car, then drove to this crazy left on another island. We scored! After surfing the ultimate tubes we all got some cold Bintang's, laughed, and said "cheers" to each other!
I'm in Hawaii at the moment. I've been surfing Rocky Point the most. Waves have been fun but super crowded but i've been finding a couple of ramps to jump off here and there. Big swell on the way and so is the Pipe masters, can't wait. I surfed Pipe the other day and got buckled.

This week some friends from Oz have been in Bali, they are Dino Adrian and Jarrah Tutton. It has been really fun cruising with them. For the big swell we went to Nusa Lembongan with everybody and got sick barrels at Lacerations. Then back in Bali we shot with Adam Wise on the beach break for a few days. Now the waves are flat. Maybe we should go party tonight??

Last month I went to Rote a few days before the ISC event to try out my boards and get a feel for the wave. I always have a good time there, it's super laid back and worth checking out if you ever get the chance. I stayed at my friend Axel's place (Boa Hills Eco-Surf House) and got some fun windy waves before the rest of the competitors showed up. I was lucky in a way because they all got delayed in Kupang due to the winds, so I had it to myself for two extra days :)

Lately I've been doodling a lot in my sketch book. I can take it on the road and add stuff as I go along, it's a work in progress until you feel like it's done and move on to the next one. Below are a set of 3 pieces, and below that is a spread I got in the new issue of Surfing. Thanks to Hamish for being in the right spot at the right time.... Out!

In July I went to the Mentawai's for an ISC contest and the waves were insane, so I put together a boys trip to go back there in late August. Our crew was Andrew Walker, Jason Trump, Morgan, Sanu, Aldino, Kimo, and Julien. We've all been friends since we were groms so it was a lot more chilled out than the usual photo trip.
